The Music Kitchen was launched in Edinburgh in 2003 by Gordon Campbell and former Bay City Roller guitarist Stuart "Woody" Wood.
As the name suggests, The Music Kitchen create a recipe of music related projects aimed at the cross over market - it has been described as a meeting place for the unusual! A curation of not so obvious ideas and concepts, each product delivering innovation.
The business launched onto the Scottish music scene hitting the Scottish charts with "Scottish Chillout Album" and securing a number one album for X-Factor finalists the Macdonald Bros.
The brains behind the concept are Gordon Campbell and Stuart Wood and their original mission statement - to produce music with accessibility coupled with an innovative charm - remains as intact now as it did in the beginning.
Gordon trained as an accountant at Heriot-Watt - and wrote smash hit for Shakin' Stevens back in the seventies whilst "Woody" - will forever be synonymous with the worldwide phenomenon that was the Bay City Rollers - is now producing for the Music Kitchen.
Music Kitchen, which operates from a converted police station in the Southside of Edinburgh and has a small core staff yet continues to produce creative ideas and concepts for the label which has produced well in excess of 100 CD titles to date.
